The bonus is that they are not coming from just one site, but 5 or 6 different ones meaning that I am less reliant on the fortunes of one source of income.

I am currently considering my offline options and wondering if there is money to be made coaching people to do affiliate marketing, Anyone have any comments on this?

I recently had a wake up call and was reminded of the benefit of having an email list when a fellow Nichechopper showed us his Clickbank stats following a recent product launch, he made over $1700 in a matter of hours!

Everytime a new product is launched properly on Clickbank the Publisher provides emails and prelaunch materials to send out to your list.  I always kick myself because I don’t have a list.

So now I am taking action and setting up a list.  Stage 1, creating a free product to encourage people to opt in, is underway.  I am writing a guide which will be in the form of a pdf ebook which can be downloaded, I may try breaking it down into a 5 part email course as an autoresponder.  (This may work better for retaining people on the list and making them comfortable about my emails hitting their inbox)

Stage 2 will be to set up an email capture form on my niche sites and Stage 3 will be to set up a squeeze landing page specifically set up to gather email addresses.

I have tried free autoresponders before, but I think it is now time I spent some money and went for aweber, or one of their cheaper white label versions such as http://clients.xmailpro.com/pricing.htm  $19.95 for 10,000 subsccribers.  This is not a recommendation as I have not tried it yet.  Will let you know how I get on.

Google Adsense Adverts are everywhere, some of the biggest and most well known sites make the majority of their income from Adsense (and I mean Millions of $$$), these sites work on huge volumes of visitors and the % of those clicking on their ads.  Plentyoffish.com the free dating site made something like $300K/month back in 2006! 

Anyway, back to the point of this post, the choice between Clickbank and Adsense…

I look at it like this:

A Clickbank sale of $80 will take 80-100 hops to make giving an EPC of about $1

An Adsense click in the same niche may earn about $1

The benefit of Adsense is that you don’t have to make an allowance for refunds, the problem is you cannot encourage people to click on the adverts like you might with a Clickbank hoplink.

So, if you find a good high paying niche consider Adsense as an alternative to Clickbank.  It doesn’t harm to diversify your income streams to allow for changes!

I just changed my mood to truly amazed. There is so much no bull info on this site that it will take me a long while to get thru it. We now have live seminars on specific topics such as CPA Marketing and PPC etc to give real time advice and support, even the experienced marketeers gain a lot from these.

I was wrong, it is already at 412 and overtaken FAP Turbo in less than a week!!!

I decided to give it a try and added a single drop in advert and a static ad on one of my forex review sites and it made a sale in just 6 hops! Bingo, $90 commission too!

Then I took a shot at Adwords with a landing page, I bought www.ivybotoffer.info for $0.70 and quickly put together a simple landing page based on the design of the ivybot page with a few tweaks.

I spent $25 on adwords and made another sale! $25=$90 – I like that Math! I did have quite a poor conversion rate on the landing page, so I am modifying the ad slightly.

I am now going to add the Ivybot onto my review sites to try and get some more organic traffic.

Lets hope the refunds are low and the publisher doesn’t pull the product and just grab emails, like the Forex Grail product (that I got pulled from the CB Marketplace!)

Whilst most affiliate marketers know the basics, I thought I would create a Clickbank Guide for Newbies on this blog to help everyone.

If anyone reads the Guide and feels that I have got something wrong, missed out something critical or you simply have a question please post as a comment on the Clickbank Guide Page.

Since January 2009 (when I properly started to use TIDs to track where sales came from) my sales have come from:

Review Sites with a number of products on offer:  81%

Product Name Review Landing Pages (i.e. forexboomerangreview.com) : 4%

Blog Review of a product: 2%

PPC Campaign either direct to Sales Page or via lander: 13%

The truth of it is, that of the 50+ sites I own, the majority of sales come from about 5 review sites, ranging from forex robots, paid surveys, wow leveling guides.

I hope this gives some insight into what works for me.

Same consistent number of targetted hops, like clockwork, but sales dried up and many of the people on DigitalPoint and Nichechoppers have also been hit this week.  Check out the stats for the last three periods.

12th May to 17th May

433 hops, 1 sale = $82

6th May to 11th May

488 hops, 7 sales = $383

30th April to 5th May

484 hops, 6 sales = $368

Overall stats for the last 6 weeks are:

Sales: 45

Refund %: 17.78%

Net Income: $2057.46

Anyway, time to change all the hops again as I believe this account has been blackballed by Clickbank due to the refunds, like previous accounts.  Onwards and upwards hopefully.
